Renting vs. booking

Rent a foam machine, or book the crew?

Renting a foam machine usually costs about what our staffed hour does — but the rental leaves you running the cannon and the hose yourself, for the whole party. We bring the cannon, the solution, and a crew member, and the price is on the page. Here's the honest comparison.

The long answer

What running a foam cannon actually involves

A foam cannon isn't complicated, but it isn't a toaster either. It wants steady water pressure from the spigot, a solution mix that's rich enough to stack but not so rich you burn through it in twenty minutes, and somebody on it the whole time. At your own party, that somebody is you — which means you're behind the machine while the cake gets cut, instead of with your own kids.

That's the real cost of the rental, and it has nothing to do with dollars. The dollars are usually a wash: by the time an unstaffed machine, the solution jugs, and the delivery or pickup are added up, most rentals land close to what our staffed hour costs. What you're actually choosing between is running the party and being at the party.

When you book us instead, the hour arrives finished. One crew member hauls it in, dials in the foam, keeps it moving around the yard, and packs it all out when the hour's done. The music and lights come with. The foam breaks down on its own in about half an hour, so there's no takedown on your side and nothing to return before a deadline. You provide an outlet, a spigot, and about 20 by 20 feet of grass — that's your whole job.

"Staffed" means more than aiming, too. A crew member manages the mix all hour, allows for the wind, keeps the pile where the grass is and away from where it shouldn't go, and takes the output up or down the moment you ask. That's the part no rental counter can hand you with the machine. Supervising the kids stays yours either way — what changes is whether one of your adults is tied to a cannon while it happens.

And if your crowd outgrows one package, nothing changes shape: bigger parties add hours at flat rates and rotate groups through the foam. Same pricing for backyards, schools and churches, and camps and daycares — nobody negotiates, because there's nothing to negotiate.

One more frame worth doing before you decide anything: the per-kid math. A $350 hour split across a 30-kid party is about twelve dollars a kid — less than most of the usual party venues charge per head before food. The pricing page puts foam next to the venue options side by side, which is the comparison the rental listings never show you.

Fair's fair

Which one fits your day

Renting might fit if

  • You want foam running across several days, not one hour
  • You've run this kind of equipment before and enjoy it
  • There's a volunteer who's genuinely happy to skip the party

Booking us fits if

  • You want to be in the pictures, not behind the machine
  • You'd rather have one flat price with everything included
  • The guest list has you past "I'll just run it myself"
  • You want the foam to be somebody else's whole job that day

What about glow foam — can a rental do that?

Glow and color foam are where the gap gets wide. Doing it yourself means sourcing the right solution and lighting on top of the machine. With us they're add-ons at $200 an hour, run on the same cannon by the same crew member, with the lights already part of the rig. If the party runs past sunset, glow foam is the upgrade people remember.

What if the weather turns?

A rental reservation is yours whatever the sky does. Our policy bends instead: a little rain doesn't stop a foam party — it's a wet party anyway — and if a real storm rolls in, we work with you to pick a new date and your deposit moves with it.

How does booking work?

Half down holds your date, and the rest is due 24 hours before the party. No pickup window, no return deadline, no cleaning fee waiting at the end — the foam is gone on its own about half an hour after we stop, and the equipment leaves with us.
